What is included in the trip cost?

Accepted Answer

- Supervision by a qualified mountain guide  
- Accommodation in dormitories, as described in the trek program  
- All meals during the trek (not in Chamonix). Breakfast and dinner in the accommodation. At lunch time we will have a home made picnic with packed lunches, dried fruit and snacks.  
- Luggage transfers every night (except on day 2)  
- Transport from Les Houches to Courmayeur on first day of the trek

What is excluded from trip?

- Travel Insurance  
- Visas  
- International Flights  
- Meals on the first and last day  
- Accommodation first and last day
- Airport Transfers
- Drinks other than water served during the trek. Drinks and snacks available for purchase in the shelters.
- Transport to the meeting point in Les Houches on the first day of the trek, and from the end of the trek in Le Tour
- Any private transport or cable car tickets not included in the trek program  
- Anything not listed in “Included in the price”

What gear do we need to bring along?

Once you book the trip you will be provided with a detailed gear list covering technical clothing, footwear, accessories and equipment.

Question 4

What luggage should I bring?

Accepted Answer

During the trek, the transfer of one piece of luggage per person is provided every day between the different accommodations: a soft bag, of the duffle bag type, of a maximum of 25 lb (12kg) per person.  
You only carry your day’s belongings, in a backpack of about 30L.  
If you have a larger suitcase, you will need to leave it in Chamonix during the trek. Please contact us to arrange it.

Question 5

When is the best time to do the TMB?

Accepted Answer

The best time to do the Tour du Mont Blanc is from June to September.  
At the beginning of June the trails are not yet too busy, but there is often snow on the higher parts of the tour. For experienced hikers or with our guided groups, this is a very pleasant period.  
From 15 July to 15 August the trails are most crowded. This is the best time to meet hikers from all over the world!  
After mid-August and until the end of September, it is quite possible to do the Tour du Mont Blanc. The accommodations are still open, the days are mild and the paths are quieter.

Is it possible to upgrade accomodation?

For some of our tours, we can upgrade the "dormitory" package to a "Comfort" packages which, when possible, nights in private rooms.

Question 7

Does this trip have guaranteed departures?

Accepted Answer

This trip is guaranteed to run even with only one booking. You will be joining a group of up to 12 travelers. Starting dates for Summer 2024: June 18, July 2, 16, 30, Aug 13, 27 and Sept 10.
